Glendale needs a City Council that can work together, even when they disagree,
to find solutions to the challenges we face, to make Glendale a better place to
live, work and raise our families, a place where diversity of discourse and
ethnicity is honored, respected and represented in everything we do.
I am a reliable advocate of neighborhoods and homeowners, dedicated to insuring
that communities have a voice in Glendale.
I will work to:
- find park and green space in Glendale, even in uncommon places
- pass an appropriate view protection ordinance to protect privacy and property
values
- fund arts and education in Glendale, because businesses invest in communities
that invest in themselves
- establish a right to appeal by petition the decisions of boards and commissions
- pass a Hillside Ordinance to protect our neighborhoods and find reasonable
solutions to hillside development
- establish neighborhood associations in under represented areas of Glendale
- introduce business licenses in Glendale that guarantee our competitive advantage
over neighboring cities, allowing us to better attract and regulate economic
growth
- move from incentivizing green building techniques to requiring it in new
construction
- spend less time lecturing from the dais and more time finding consensus
